Hey all!  Sorry for the ignorance and possibly dumb question... but...

Why won't the url show in the address bar?  Even when I specify the link to the url, it shows the ip address.  I thought it should be in the web.config but I don't see it.  Please let me know if I'm in the wrong forum... I need this addressed asap (we're live!)

Does the IP resolve to a verfied domain THAT CAN be resolved in DNS?  If not, then there is your reason.  You can't make up domains without registering them in DNS first. If the IP can be resolved and has recently changed, then you should allow time (usually 24 - 48 hours) for any domain name change to propogate the DNS root servers.  If the IP didn't change then check with who ever handles your DNS.

Thanks Shadow... but that's not it.  This site has been on the same server for 5 years with the domain name that I'm trying to use.  DNN is in a folder within the original site under that domain name.

The problem is that even when I specify a link with www.mysite.com, or if I type in the direct path, it doesn't give an error it is re-directed to the ip address. Any other thoughts?

Did you create an alias with the proper domain name to access the site?

Wanita,

It's probably not in your portalsalias table.  Make sure that in that table you list your domain also.
