I have just installed DNN v 4.09.04 on Windows2003/iis6 on port 103 (port 80 is already being used on the web server). An isa server is listening on port 80 and forwarding requests to port 103 on the web server.

This is all working fine and dandy but some of the links used by DNN when editing content like Update and Cancel are adding the port number to the URL e.g http://www.mysite.com:103/Default.aspx?tabid=100. This is resulting in an error page being displayed because the isa server cannot resolve the URL with the port number included (103) as it's listening on port 80.

I have the port number included in the aliases for the portal and also I've set the "UsePortNumber" attribute in the web.config file to "true". I've tried setting the value to false and removing the port numbers from the portal aliases but both result in redirection to my localhost i.e the first portal alias in the list.

This is a really frustrating problem as 90% of the site works, it's only a few links within DNN that are having this problem. I hope someone can shed some light on this, I would be eternally grateful.

We have needed to use different port for SSL with ISA server, and haven't been able to get it running.

Why don't you use Host headers instead of a different port, this should be much easier to configure and also allows to run multiple web sites on the same server.

Hi Sebastian, thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunatly sharepoint is using port 80 and requires specific iis settings that are different to those needed for DNN.

you should be able to setup a second separate web site in IIS with appropriate setting, not interfering wth Sharepoint.

iis6 will not allow you to set up two websites with the same TCP port. Actually.... it will let you set them up but it won't let you start them both at the same time.
