I have set up a restricted administrator role on our DotNetNuke site which allows a member to edit any page without giving them access to the admin menus.  This works fine except when copying a page.  In this case, The modules on the page are not shown on the "Specify Modules" section when copying the page.

However, if I go into each Module on the source page and explicitly give the Role edit permissions, then they will show.

Screen snapshots can be seen here: http://www.mllpix.com/WebImages/Dnn/CopyPageIssue.png

It seems that role permissions are implicitly passed from Page to Module for all other editing activities except for Copying.

Has anyone else had this issue and can provide a work around (besides going into each module and setting explicit permission --- yikes!).

We are using 4.9.0.  Would going to 5.1 fix this?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Have you tried selecting Copy radio button instead of New on Copy Page?

Mike,

I am not aware, that this area has been touched, but there have been changes for granular permissions in DNN 5.1 which might have corrected this behaviour. I will check out later and respond.

I was hopeful that 5.1.0 would have fixed this issue but it appears that it does not.

Any more thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

Some permission issues will be fixed in DNN 5.1.1, but you should log this bug into the public tracker (2nd from top) at support.dotnetnuke.com, to get it validated.
