Hello all, it's been awhile since I've posted but I have a few questions about a DNN portal I may possibly take over. Currently it's a 3.x, I would prefer to bump it up to a 4.x or 5.x install but know that the potential for problems is greater due to such a old version of DNN. So I may just build from scratch which brings me to having several questions. Here they are below:

1.) Is there a module for custom searching? Is OpenWebStudio a good custom option? The Client currently has the below "popular searches" which was integrated using List X, but wants the search engine to pull search results of related content from the web as well as a directory managed on the DNN site itself. Currently the core DNN search hasn't been the best. (http://www.autismhelpnetwork.com/tabid/101/default.aspx?cx=012362462293361846875:varup41qpuu&cof=FORID:9&q=autism%20treatment%20options)

2.) What is the best place to host a DNN portal? I have looked at Power DNN, are there any others that are just as good and cheaper?

3.) I was quoted at $85 an hour to migrate a 3.x site to 5.x which is why I am just going to explore starting from scratch instead.

4.) What is the best Directory module available for DNN?

Sorry for so many questions in one thread but I am soon to be out of a job and and need all the projects I can take on until I am employed again and want to give the client the most bang for the buck.

I had added search requirements. The client wants to be able to have localized searching. For example, if you are from Pittsburgh, PA and you want to find autism resources from the web as well as a directory module on the site. Is this possible or am I grasping at straws? The client is even ok with implementing a two boz search where the first text area you input what you want (ex. occupational theropy) and the second either city or zip code (ex. Pittsburgh or 15222).

If anyone has any idea if this is possible please let me know. Thanks in advance.
