DotNetNuke is installed on 2 Windows servers in an NLB cluster. Each dotnetnuke installation connects to an Oracle database. The Oracle database sees twice 10 connections all of the time, even if no one is using the application. How can this number be reduced ?

DotNetNuke must use some DataProvider connection pool mechanism as the connections to the data provider stay open all of the time. In this case the Data Provider is an Oracle database. Having a big number of connections open all the time is not a good thing as these connections use memory on the database server and an opracle database server has a maximuma number of open connections.

Is it possible to configure the Oracle data provider connection settings in Oracle ? To have a mimimum of lets say 2 connections op en at any given time in stead of 10 what is the default case apparantly. The only Oracle connection parameters I have found are in the web.config file :    <add key="SiteOracle" value="User Id=...;Password=...;Data Source=..." />

Thx, Christian Van de Vijver
