Hi All,

I'm trying to use the relocation widget to move the view_state to the bottom of the page. After adding the necessary code to my skin I tested it in IE8 and Firefox. When I loook at the source using Firefox / Firebug it works great - the view_state has been moved. But when I open the same page in IE8 and look at the source in Web Development Helper the view_state has not been moved. I can only assume that the relocation widget doesn't work in IE8? I switched on compatability view just to check but it still didn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Vinny

According to core team information, the position of the view_state is no longer critical for any larger search engine. Do you have different information or needs to move it?

Hi Sabastiian,

Thank you for the reply. I actually would consider moving it for SEO reasons and it's good to know that view_state position isn't really an issue for the crawlers. However, I was moving it in this case just to learn how to use the relocation widget. I was following the instructions presented in a blog post by Will Strohl and the demo was using the relocation widget to move the view_state to the bottom of the page. So regardless, I'm wondering why it works as expected in FF but doesn't appear to be in IE8?

Thanks.
