Hi
From what I've read it seems like a domain can't be set for a child portal but I'd swear I'd seen it done elsewhere. Please confirm...

I've got site www.aaa.com with child portal "bbb".
To date I've been running bbb entirely off the ip address. Changing IP = big pain for bbb.
Child portal admins don't want "aaa" anywhere in their url, they have their own (www.bbb.com) but I am host for the dnn install, thus the use of IP.
Right now I simply have a redirect set up for them so anyone types www.bbb.com in it takes them to 123.123.123.123/childportal/...
Is there a way to set www.bbb.com as the url for this child portal? or must it always start with the parent or the ip?

Thanks
Mike

Sure.  It's called a parent portal.  That's the only difference between a child portal and a parent portal.

You need to create a DNS record for www.bbb.com to have it point to the IP address of your DNN instance.  And you need to add a Portal Alias (Site Settings...when logged in as Host) to www.bbb.com's portal to have it respond to that URL.

Thanks for the feedback guys. While I don't want to go through making another parent I was afraid of that. I'll try Mike's suggestion and see how it goes. Thanks again
