Using DNN 5.1.4 we have run into a minor annoyance.  When adding a new module to the page the default alignment setting for the module is not specified, which in our sites makes it centered.  Is there a way for the default alignment of a module to be set to left when adding it to a page.  It would be a pain to have to go into the settings and change the alignment every single time.

Thanks!

Try this,

Go into the settings for a module.

Expand PAge Settings -> Advanced Settings.

set your desired setting.

Check

alignment within modules should be specified by the container, not UI. AFAIK there is still an alignment option in Module settings for compatibility reasons.

Robert,

Yeah I thought of that and tried it but whenever i add new modules they still get added with "Not Specified" as the default alignment.

In DNN 4.x whenever a module was added to a page it was added with the alignment set to Left.  We really want it that way again as we really want to upgrade our sites to DNN 5 but we have a lot of church volunteers that edit pages on our sites and that extra step would confuse them.

Sebastian,

I will try setting alignment in the container to see if that does what we need.

Thanks!

We had an old container that was essentially no container that didn't set alignment.  I copied the extropy container and removed the call for the module title (we didn't want to display the title) and everything is right in the world now.

Thanks for the help guys!
