When I log in as Host, the drop-down menu items report "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

I can successfully log in as Admin and all the drop-down menus function OK.  Even when logged in as host, I can access the Admin menu items OK.  It is just the host menu that displays, but reports the error above.  For instance, when logged in as Host, I can access "File Manager" on the Admin drop-down menu, but "File Manager" on the Host drop-down menu has the error.

I've logged in as Host in the past.  Even installed modules.  But now it is not working.

Using DNN 4.9.0 on a Network Solutions website.  Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702.

Anyone have any ideas to fix this?  I'd like to purchase and add another module, but can't unless I can access the Host menu items.

maybe you specified a skin with an error for the host section (in host settings)

did you already try to restart application (by saving web.config file)?

The only skin modification I've made was to change the size of the search box.  But I was able to log in as Host and use the Host drop-down menu with no problem after that change.

I uploaded a backup copy of web.config and reloaded the website, but still get the same error.

I've tried this using the Firefox browser in addition to IE, so it is not browser related.

The last time I logged in as Host was in June.  Everything worked fine then.

Network Solutions does not provide tech support for Open Source Applications that they provide.  Under the Network Solutions DotNetNuke management menu, there is an option to "Repair this DotNetNuke".  I'm not sure what that does.  There is also an option to "Reinstall this DotNetNuke".  I suppose I could reinstall and restore the database from backup.

please check eventlog for an associated entry, when trying to access a host page.

I assume, "repair" simply copies over the files, while "reinstall" clears the database and files (keep off!)

It is most likely, there is an issue in the metadata of your installation, but analysis require access to the database.

I've checked the eventlog and don't see anything related to the drop-down menu items not working.  It does show a successful login of Host.

Guess I'll try a "repair" and see what it does (after I do a backup of the database.

Let me know if you have any other ideas.  Has anyone reported a problem like this before?

Thanks.
