I have the following setup:

DNN 5.1.4 32 Bit .NET Framwork
2x Windows 2008 SP2 32Bit
NLB is setup and configured

I read the DNN webfarm document from 2006(what no update for version 5?) and have setup the farm as suggested in the documentation. I have the EnableWebFarmSupport and EnableCachePersistence both set to true in the web.config file. However when I check the Host settings "Is Web Farm" the checkbox is FALSE, and the DotNetNuke.Services.Cache.PurgeCache, DOTNETNUKE settings show both web servers I have configured.

Where else can I check to verify the settings and/or ENABLE webfarm mode?

It looks like there are a lot of changes in 5.1.x as far as web farms go.

I had a fully functional web farm in 4.x.x but am struggling to get it working under 5.1.4

As far as i can tell from the source. the function WebFarmEnabled() no longer looks at the web.config but instead does a count of the active severs in teh WebServers table in the database (cant find any reference to this in the documentation but hay)

I have currently got 3 servers in this table with active dates and all enabled. they have URLs set too (which were not set automatically) however, i still have no web farm enabled. dspite having multiple server checkboxes available in the scheduler..

anyone that can shed some light, I'd be grateful

thanks.

It would be nice if we could get an updated Web Farm document that showcases windows server 2008 with SQL 2008.  There are a number of changes between server 2003 and server 2008 that make the current document out dated when using server 2008 in a webfarm.  The following link has a tutorial video to explain what I mean.
