Greetings:

I am working on a DNN site for a statewide organization.  I was wondering if there was a method of taking the standard outlook export file and importing it into a searchable database in DNN (I've succesfully imported the data into MS Access.)  I had the notion of using the forum module to test this idea out.  One of my solutions was to create a new forum page dedicated to the search of the data in the email file.

The organization used e-mail as a type of forum tool before forum tools were mainstream.  The formats of emails and forum threads are similar, ergo the idea.  I have successfully downloaded the Outlook email file and it contains fields such as Subject, Body, Sender Name, DateTime.   A Thread field would have been nice but it is not included in the Outlook Export for some reason.  The fact that I am able to group emails by conversation coupled with the fact that there is a "find related emails" option in Outlook leads me to believe they make use of some threading mechanism.

The question is can I import this email data into some DNN structure that provides well-featured search capabilities?

Thanks,

J
