Hi Guys,

Just upgraded my site to version 5. Happy so far but have a quick question which I couldnt find using search.

On DNN4 I often set modules permissions so only admins can see them. This is useful when changing content etc. Now when the admin was the only one with view permissions, the module would get a red box round it and texts of something like "viewable by administrators only".

It appears version 5 of DNN doesnt do this. Is there a way to switch that on or is it gone for good?

Thanks

The red box around modules viewable only by administrators/hosts was discontinued in DNN 5.x. Although I did see some forum posts asking for this display to be restored as an option, I don't believe that it will be coming back. You can, however, set the Start and/or End Date in the module settings to hide the module until it is ready to be displayed to all users. In that case, the red border will still appear to administrators/hosts (and possibily those with edit permissions on the page - havn't' tested that to know for sure).

Hi Bill,

Many thanks for the reply and clearing that up for me. It's a shame it's unlikely to be returned, I found it very useful feature. I will certainly try using start and end dates.

Many thanks

Marc
