Hi,

On my website, when I type in:

http://www.sunsethill.ca/Host.aspx

I am redirected back to my home page.

http://www.sunsethill.ca/Home/tabid/3...  - this is good - it is what I want.

For another site I'm working on, when I type:

http://www.abc.com/host.aspx

I then get:

http://www.abc.com/tabid/7/ctl/Login/...

I do not want to be directed to a page where someone can attempt to log in if they attempt to access host or admin.aspx.  How can I force a re-direct to the home page - as happens in the first example.  For this website, the login page is hidden and has a cryptic page name - we don't want to give anyone the ability to attempt to log in unless they know the URL to the login page (one that they would have a very difficult time guessing ...)

First, you are using DNN, correct?  If so, and you navigate to a secured page, the default is to redirect to the login page.

Yes, it is a DNN site - 5.2.2.

When I am not authenticated and type in this URL:

http://www.mysite.com/host.aspx

I am re-directed to this URL and am presented with the login control.

http://www.mysite.com/tabid/7/ctl/Login/portalid/0/Default.aspx?returnurl=%2fhost.aspx

When I try to do this with my own DNN site - version 5.1.4 - I am re-directed to the home page - which is the desired result.

So, the problem persists with this 5.2.2 site.  I do not want people to be able to type in http://www.mysite.com/host.aspx - and be presented with the login control.

Change the login page in site settings to the home page.

Unfortunately that just makes things worse...

I made the change - logged off - then attempted to go to:   www.abc.com/Admin.aspx.

I get this nasty error message - PLUS - the login contol is visible

A critical error has occurred.
You have been redirected to this default Login Page because the Login Page set for this website does not contain a valid DotNetNuke Account Login module, or the permissions have not been set correctly.
