Chris,

I was able to make two dummy pages available externally. You can now see the problem. If you start with the http page here

http://shcrealty.com/dummy-http-page.aspx

once that comes up, you can click the https page. Note that that transfer works just fine. However, when you then try to go back to the http page, you will see the http url flash in the upper left corner of the browser area itself.

This only happens when the protocol is going from https back to http. This particular instance of dnn we are using vanilla DNN 4.9.5 codebase.

Anyone having any ideas what is causing the url to appear before the http redirect takes place?????

thks,

Phil

Opps, one more thing, right now we have the iFinity url rewriter provider on, but even when we had the friendly url rewriter set to the DNN default, we had this problem.

thks

All the https stuff is handled in whatever URL re-writter you are using.

If you want to see what the core one does, you can checkout the DotNetNuke.HttpModules project's UrlRewriteModule.vb.

When going from https to http, a client side redirector is used to avoid the browser security warning (which is far worse than someone seeing a temp URL).  In 5.2.2 source, this code you are looking for is around line 521.
