I have created a sub-admin role that has access to the Admin, User Accounts, File Manager and Site Settings pages.  Users in this role are not page editors.  However, I can't figure out how to give this sub-admin role access to the little Admin link on the control panel.  I don't want to have the Admin page in the menu and was counting on these users being able to access their Admin pages through that link.

The minimized version of the conrol panel with View and Edit is visible, but not the Admin link.  How can I fix this problem?

Thank you.

Does anyone else agree that roles with access to both the control panel and the Admin page should see the Admin link on the control panel?

Have you seen my free advanced control panel for dotnetnuke? it's quite an improvement!

To enable the admin link for non-admin users, you'll need to adjust the permissions on the "Console" module placed on the root admin page. I'm not sure why the permission check is wired this way, but that appears to be how the IconBar, OptimizedBar and RibbonBar are configured... Let me know how it goes.

I've given view and edit permission for the console module to my custom admin role, but it didn't seem to make a difference. There is still no link on the control panel...

you might need to create dedicated pages for your special admins with copies of the modules. I assume, there are special treatments of //Admin and //host menu names.
