I created a new role and a bunch of user accounts for that role a few months ago, at which time the users received their passwords by email. I created some new content restricted to the role just recently, but I'm finding that a lot of the users have forgotten their passwords and no longer have the notification email that was sent. Is there any way to send out a notification email with the user's password to everyone who has that role assigned to them? If not, is there a way to send another notification to each individual user without having to reset the password? I don't relish the thought of generating all new passwords for 70+ users, so I really hope that someone knows a way to do this in bulk or at least without resetting every password. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks -Todd

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to do this in DotNetNuke out of the box. You likely could write a simple admin module that would do this, but it would have to be done through code.

There might be a third party module that provides this functionality, I am not sure.

Chris,

Couldn't you send a bulk mail (newsletter) with the token [Membership:Password] enbedded in it? Perhaps along with [User:Username] for the users that can't remember either of them?

sschleiffer, that's interesting. I can't say I've tried it, but that might work? It'd be worth a shot to test at least to a small segment (test role) of users.

Well I'd been meaning to do just that anyway so I did.  It works except that the password shows up as seven asterisks (*******) instead of a readable form. I guess this won't help unless you Core guys have some other way of using a token in a form that can be read by the email recipient.  However, I'm going to guess that you have thought of security vulnerabilities in such a capablity and prevented it.
