Here is my problem:

My host is win xp 3, my guest is winserver 2003 with iis6.0 (I created the guest machine by Sun VirtualBox).

I install DNN on the guest then I can access my DNN default home page on it with url: http://localhost/dotnetnuke or http://localhost/dotnetnuke/Default.aspx

However, from host, using url http://vm1/dotnetnuke or http://vm1/dotnetnuke/Default.aspx causes browser displaying an error: cannot display the webpage. (vm1 is virtual machine's name)

I create a simple web page (time.aspx) on DNN directory (/dotnetnuke). Using url http://localhost/dotnetnuke/time.aspx in guest or http://vm1/dotnetnuke/time.aspx in host shows the same good result.

Beside, I also create an alias for my default portal: http://vm1/dotnetnuke

Please help me.

Thank in advanced!

You need to have a Portal Alias for the external URL, you can add it by going to the Admin/Site Settings page as a HOST and going into the advanced section, portal aliases.

It would likely be vm1/dotnetnuke similar to the localhost/dotnetnuke one you have listed.

Hello Chris,

May I ask a question regarding the following?

I am unable to log in to my localhost DNN 5.02.03 installation in Visual Web Developer Express on Windows 7 Home Edition / Explorer 8

I can log in to the same installation in IIs through administrative tools!

Any ideas you may have would be very helpful.

Michael
