Our client wants their users logged out on browser close.   I noticed DotNetNuke.com somehow handles this.

Are those settings in the web.config or is there some other setting/technique that I am not aware of?

Thanks

Chad

AFAIK dotnetnuke.com isn't using anything special, it is actually the browsers handling this by expiring the cookies.

There has to be something different, because the same browser (IE8 latest) keeps their users logged in, and dotnetnuke does not. In the web.config's SessionState node, we make the timeout=20. Make this 0 and it complains. There is also a userIsOnlineTimeWindow="20" in the membership node. Does this look similar to the DNN.com web.config?

I may have found the reason we were having the issue. The userIsOnlineTimeWindow was actually set to 15, 5 minutes less than the sessionState timeout attribute. I changed this to 20, and now the user is logged out on browser close.
