Hi All,
I have just installed a fresh version of DNN 4.9 that points to a SQL SERVER 2005 DB. I have followed all the instructions in the readme.txt within the Documentation folder. I am also able to login to the site using the host account; however I amn unable to access the Host Settings or the Portals menu options within the HOST main menu option.
I am at a total loss now

Thanks,
Rajesh

What happens when you try to access them? After attempting does anything show up as an error in the "Event Viewer" under the Admin menu?

Also, out of curiosity, why are you starting with an older version of DNN if you are doing a fresh install and have SQL 2005 available?

Hi Chris,

Nothing seems to happen. It just keeps trying to load the page endlessly.

I am trying on that version of DNN as we already have a site running that version but with an Oracle DB. We are in the process of migrating to SQL Server 2005 DB, but as we have a couple of custom tables and server code, I want to first create a replica site on DNN 4.9 with SQL server and then use SSMA to do the migration.

Regards,

Rajesh

Hi Chris,

I have now resolved this. I started afresh by creating a new database and new installation of DNN. I then created a website within IIS instead of a virtual directory and all seems to be fine now. Not sure whether there was an error in the old database creation or the IIS setup.

Regards,

Rajesh
