I am having this same error happen when someone tries to register.


DefaultDataProvider: DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider, DotNetNuke.SqlDataProvider

InnerException: Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.

So I am thinking this is an issue with the Machine Key Algorithm? I did make a copy of an existing database/installation to make this install and upgraded it to 6.0. I didnt think I would need anything more than to update the database configuration settnigs to make this site function right.

Is there a step in configuration I am missing or is this a glitch in the register module.

dang this forum glitched on me i didnt see the post and hit refresh had my stuff back in teh box and posted it again as you can see I did it twice and the size of the page was extremely wide, editor had everything on one row for the options on top... after i clicked on the forum link it went bck to normal please delete a few of these posts thanks.

I believe I fixed it with the machinekey, i chnged the machine key once to a different key from antoher install nad it bugged out so I put the key back into web.config, restarted IIS and then the problem seems to have gone away for now.
