Sid, I don't have much experience with catalook, so I can't be sure on how the database works, but generally modules use the same database as DNN itself, so if you setup multiple installs (multiple DNN databases) they would all be separate catalook data as well.

You can host multiple "parent" portals within one  DNN install, and DNN will separate the content for the modules by PortalID or ModuleId, though it really is up to the developer that creates the modules to control that separation.

Just FYI, I just counted the number of tables in Catalook and it adds 59 tables to the existing db. IMO, this is a comparable solution to opening a Bricks and Mortor store, with similar investment required. I never saw any reports saying it did not do what it was supposed to do, but I also saw nobody saying "this is easy to achieve". Sid, if you are really serious about getting into ECommerce you need to take 2-3 hours and read the very very long blog post on Tom Kraak's site http://seablick.com/blog/25/top-dnn-ecommerce-modules.aspx This will make your eyes pop out of your head with facination :) Or maybe I do not get our enough.

Mark, Thanks for the link to Tom's blog, I read the entry from beginning to end. I will evaluate NBStore, but am also continuing along the CataLooK route as well due to specifications involved in the project at hand. Thanks, Sid

Hi Chris,

In reviewing IIS7, it apears the other sites were originally created using Plesk.  I've modified each site's bindings so that they are now as follows:
Domain1:  binding = www.domain1.com on *:80 (http) path = c:\dnn
Domain2: binding = www.domain2.com on *:80 (http) path = c:\dnn

I created both domains in my DNN "super install" as parent portals with aliases www.domain1.com etc.

Unfortunately, when I click on www.domain1.com within the Portals page of my superinstall, I get HTTP Error 500.19 cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions.  This is really strange, as I already granted Network Servece full access to c:\dnn.  Is there another network account that needs same access?

Thanks,
Sid

If you used Plesk the account is likely something with the domain name. You can check by going into IIS and looking at the Individual App Pools, to see what account is configured for each.
