That may not be the account that needs access.  Check the IIS ASP.NET process account (App Pool Identity) and see waht account is really used.  That's the one that needs access.

Chris & Jeff,

Thanks so much for your help!  This is new territory for me as I'm working on a dedicated server vs. past experience on a shared platform.  Sorry for the noob questions.  :)

A thought occurred to me about the way I'm structuring this install.  As mentioned earlier in the thread, we have one IP Address coming into the server, 3 to 4 sites to be hosted by DNN, all under one DNN install (CataLooK licensing).  The sites were actually setup in IIS via Plesk before I did the DNN install.  Thus, Plesk created separate app pools for each site.  Is it acceptable to use the DefaultAppPool for all sites hosted by this DNN install?

Thanks,
Sid

Yes, you can use the same app pool for all the "sites" in IIS, though separating them out can also work. If one site goes nuts and gets shut down, if they are all in the same app pool they will all be down while the app pool restarts.

There are definitely benefits to both approaches

Chris & Jeff,

I decided to create 4 app pools, one for each site that will be hosted by the DNN install.  Each app pool has Identity = NetworkService.  Is this correct?  I've read about setting up AppPoolIdentity in IIS7 and am wondering if that's applicable here?  Or, is NetworkService not the appropriate identity to use?

Thanks,
Sid
