I have been having some email issues with DNN 5.4.4 - see here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/F...

My server is configured as followed:
  • Windows Server 2008
  • IIS7
  • .Net 3.5
  • 1 Instance of DNN 5.2.2
  • 1 Instance of DNN 5.2.3
  • 8 Instances of DNN 5.4.4

My question is can I install .Net 4 along side of .Net 3.5 and have it not affect the 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 Instances...

Another odd finding I came across is that the Application Pool  for the DNN sites is set to .Net 2.0???? is this correct? Let me know what you guys think - so I can have a smoother running DNN expereince!

Thanks!

.net 3.0 and 3.5 are addons for DNN 2.0, yes this is correct. For ASP.Net 4 you should configure at least separate app pools using dedicated login accounts. good luck

When you say create a seperate app pool using dedicated login accounts - can you give more detail... I can't just install .net 4.0 and restart the server and DNN should pick up the changes or... is this why the pool needs to change. Sorry this is something that I am not overly familair with.

Thanks for any clarification.
