I'm getting ready to implement my first DNN system (woot!) for the performing arts school that my family participates in.  In moving the content from a 100%-based Flash site (shudder) I've found it very easy to identify various modules to accomplish certain goals.  However, I'm STUCK on this one....

The school's offerings are broken into 3 different "colleges" if you will, Theater, Dance & Art.  Each college has it's own set of classes, 15 to 25 depending which one.  I'm trying to sort out the best way to list each colleges courses (think links or menu) linking each item to a detailed description of what the course entails.

IMHO, using a page-based approach would make a huge, messy menu - seems like a bad idea.  I had thought of using a page per college, and then have one larger HTML module to host some affair that would perhaps use frames to isolate navigation from the detailed description area.  Even with this idea, I don't quite have my head wrapped around the "how" of it.

So, what advise would you offer?  Thanks so very, very much in advance for your time and thoughts!!

You could do it in a number of ways. Out of the box,. I would suggest looking at the Form & List module or the Repository module

You might also find a module like Engage: Publish or Ventrian News Articles would be a great choice as well due to their categorization

Hi, check out digArticle. Once you have each content item entered as an article, you can slice n dice the articles based on categories and/or tags. There is a 15 day trial you can install and see if it will work for you.
Thanks

All,

Thanks much for the ideas - it's given me a lot to chew on!  However, I'm not able to sort out how I would use these modules to accomplish the goal.  Here's a static screen shot of what I have in mind:  http://www.trilogyculturalarts.com/te...

The aim is to select an item on the left and see the detail description on the right - more of a navigation bit of business perhaps compared to an honest table.  I could do a rather grand table and list all of the items, but long pages make me twitch...don't like the buggers.

Thanks much!

Hi, In digArticle, you would simply add all those classes as articles.  The left side of the screen would be a digArticle dashboard that lists Articles.  The right side would be an Article View module that will display the article.  Download our 14 day trial and give it a try.
Thanks,
Mike
