Can anyone explain why DNN's CSS does not validate on http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
I just plugged in the DNN home page and got errors. I am very new at this so I don't know if this is a big deal or not. I am going to build a DNN site and I am really looking at the nuts and bolts to make sure everything is right. This came up and has me concerned. Thanks!

I just started using DNN myself and I agree this is a concern. On the other hand, Yahoo.com doesn't validate, and neither does Microsoft.com or Wikipedia.com.  I know this doesn't help matters with DNN however I wouldn't worry unless you work for a government org that requires W3C compliance or a client who actually cares. Sure W3C compliance would be nice, then again lots of browser devs have spent hundreds of hours I'm sure making us never notice noncompliant CSS. Looks like you'll have to fix the errors by hand and maybe give us a link, maybe post it on Digg.com for some free traffic to your site ;)

Best of luck!

Hopefully future versions will fix this. If you are concerned about it, and I feel that it isn't going to be an issue that will go away, I have posted a free tutorial for registered users on my site at http://www.obrienit.se on how to get DNN to produce valid output. My site is valid xhtml transitional, valid CSS and passes the accessibility tests that I have thrown at it.

I have also started what I intend to build out to become a showcase for CSS based design for DNN at http://www.xhtmlskins.com - submissions welcome!
