I just went chasing down another issue and realized a bunch of the static pages on the site that I rarely ever look at are not functioning unless I am in edit mode.  All I get in user mode is the standard "A critical error has occurred object reference not set to an instance of an object.  Below is what I found in the event log.  I am by no means a DNN expert so any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated

What version of DNN? What modules are on those pages? Any idea what version of those modules as well?

DNN version is 5.6 and according to module definitions HTML module is also 5.6

Hrmmm well being on the latest version should help. Do those errors happen for ANY page that has an HTML module on it when you aren't logged in?

On all modules on a particular page, try disabling module output caching, restart the application (from host settings, IIS or re-saving web.config file), then see if the errors are still occuring on that page when not in edit mode or for an unauthenticated user. If the errors are gone as I suspect they may be, we've narrowed the problem down to cache issues.
