Hello,

Is there a way to use dot net nuke without a portal alias? I need to use the site with a reverse proxy.

Regards,

Not exactly sure what you are asking here - a reverse proxy is just dns backlink to a domain name from your ip address.

If you are asking can you just use and ip address as in http:/192.168.0.1/home.aspx then yes there is no problem with that.
Just set your dnn alias to the ip address.

Reverse Proxy : "A proxy server that appears to the client as if it is an origin server. This is useful to hide the real origin server from the client for security reasons, or to load balance"

Basically Apache is being used as a reverse proxy server in this client's envrionment. I need dot net nuke to always respond with a particular domain even if the request comes in as either a different domain name or directly as the IP address. Based on DNN's archetecture, this may be impossible (which is a shame) but I need to know for certain.

Regards.
