I wonder if DNN C # is replacing DNN VB
if so what is the way to do upgrade from a version VB DNN 5.5.1
What will be the latest version of DNN in VB the VB version is abandoned?

DNN 6 will be written in C#, i.e. DNN 5.6.2 should be the last VB.Net version. However, there should be no difference, VB modules, skins and providers will continue to run.

Thank you Sebastian !
is there anything that i must have on my server (WS2003standard) to run C#
is it better for me to wait the V6.0 or can i upgrade today to 5.6.2 ..
if others modules (not core) are running on this server, is there any problems Please
Best regards

Both c# and vb co-exist on every asp.net install so there is nothing you need to do on the server as such.

There will be full upgrade paths from 5.6.2 to 6.0 so there is no reason to NOT move now the 5.6.2 - you get the benefits of the features that exist now - and will be in the best position to be ready for the move to 6.0.

As for waiting for 6.0 - its still very much a work in process - we are still only seeing technology previews at the moment.

thank you Westa,
i suppose there is no more update in VB after the 5.6.2 and the next DNN version V6.0 in C# can take some time to release ?

Cheers from France, Michel
