I made a lot of major changes to the site on a local version. I was unable to overwrite the live site as many people update it on a daily basis and could not lose those changes. So i exported the pages with content and imported them into the new site. Now everytime i create a new page it has about 50 modules on it. It is only 2 modules but about 25 instances of each.

My problem is i cant just uncheck the box to display on all pages as it will remove them from pages. These modules were setup on certain pages, each with different configurations. So it would take every bit of a day just redoing the modules.

Is there a way that i can fix this in the DB without removing from pages currently on? Maybe a sql script that will remove all modules from "new" pages. I am assuming that is a setting somewhere to tell dnn to include module on new pages.  I would prefer to not have any module on the page when i create one. I could really use some help figuring this out without removing the instances already being used.

So if i write and execute a query to search for all of these and change that setting to false, it should correct the problem and not remove the existing modules from pages?

it depends whether there is a module reference in TabModules table for all the modules or just a single tab module with "show on all pages" flag. I haven't dug into the implementation yet, you might need some experiments to produce expected behaviour. Be aware, you need to restart the app after to make changed made directly in the database become effective.
