Hello There:

I am wanting to add a script tag into a module that is making use of the radeditor provider.  I know I can go to host>html manager and under content filters uncheck the script filter however I don't want this feature turned off for anyone who may end up having to add some content to our site weather it be a page or a specific module.

I have wanted to reel in a google widget which requires the use of the script tag to source to their app if you will and I definately want to do this but I don't want anybody who has edit priveledges to do this.

So here is my question is there any possible way in DNN 6.0.2 that you can opt to turn on or off content filters via security role.

Now I know the new html manager gives you the ability to assign configurations to everyone (which is default) or create new groups in which configurations would apply which I am assuming would include groups with a given security role that you set up to apply to the group with a given set of configurations.

If this is the way to go about this than how could I set it up so all but such and such a group or groups (set up via the html manager) have the content filter set to strip any script tags going into the rad provider.

I know that by default the content filter to strip out script tags are turned on which is the way I would want it for all roles except those which I decide are allowed the ability to add script tags inside the rad editor which of course by nature would also include the administratvie role in regards to this.

I do know a work around might be to temporarily give priveledges to add a script tag into the rad editor and than go back to html manager and plug this ability up again but It seems their has got to be a more seamless way and automated way of doing this than having to manual go through that kind of process anytime you require a script tag added in a text/html module or any other module utlizing the rad editor provider.

Thanks,

Bo

the html editor manager supports setting configuration at the portal, tab and role level -however the list of roles is limited and if you have to do it outside certain roles then you will have to build a custom solution (and use the tab level setting on pages that your roles have edit rights to)
