G'Day Guys,

I have several portals running on DNN 4.0 and after trying to go through all of the upgrades to get it to 6.01 I have given up.  Part of the problem was that several of the modules being used are no longer supported (Gumbsoft in particular, went out of business).  I have decided to recreate the sites again, page by page, with new modules in 6.01 on my development server, what a pain.  One problem though, I have many registered users in each site.  Their passwords are encrypted in the asp_membership database table, with whatever default encryption DNN uses.  Can I just copy and paste each of the encrypted passwords into the same field into the new database?  Will that work?  Or can I decrypt the passwords?

How have others solved this problem?

Many thanks,

Cheers

Ian.

IMHO easiest option is buying a module like BulkUserManager (http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=21490), which you can use to export and import user data via a text file.
