We've tried to configure DNN 6.1.0 to use two different SMTP servers, with no luck. The TEST message arrives without error. But any email for addresses other than our ADMIN fail (with no error). For example the email to REGISTER a new user never arrives. DNN says it was sent OK. Forum update notices also don't arrive.

We set the 'host' email and 'admin' email to the same email that passed the TEST. We tried Basic and NTLM authentication. Both TEST fine.

We suspect the format of the outgoing message is bad. Not certain what we did to screw it up. Don't see any place to change the format.

Older version of DNN 4.0 is working fine with one of these SMTP servers.

The email messages get their 'parts' from within the language settings. You can find them within there and reset them to the default.

Have you got access to the smtp server logs? This would be the quickest way in determining what is occurring at the SMTP server or if the messages are even watching the server. In today's world of spam checking there can be multiple reasons why a message can be blocked.

Your admin emails may be getting through because that email address is treated as trusted but the others when combined with other factors the server looks at are treated totally differently.
