Hi All,

My client is running DNN 6.0.2 and I am trying to remove the GA tracking within the CMS, but when I try to delete the Tracking ID it will not let me update the page. The resulting error is "Tracking ID is Required".

The reason I am removing it is because the admin pages are getting logged in GA and we don't want them to be. I would think that most users don't want any /Admin, /Host or "Manage Content" pages to be tracked in GA, but there is no way to exclude this in DNN's GA implementation. It is for this reason that I'd like to embed my own external script in all skins other than the Admin one for tracking.

Thanks for any pointers!

Rename the

  SiteAnalytics.config

file from your root to something and see if that helps.

Costas,

Thanks for the suggestion! As I have a lot of DNN sites deployed, I try to avoid quick fix solutions that could be a problem when upgrading. I believe this to be a problem in the code that needs to be fixed, but before I enter it as a bug I'd like to see if this is a problem for anyone else.

Respectfully, Phil

Okay, well, each time I rename or remove the siteanalytics.config file, it is regenerated. I've also uninstalled the Google Analytics module in Host/Extensions and the GA continues to appear in the page.

I am seriously at a loss, and if nobody has any other suggestions then I will log the issue in gemini.
