We are attempting to get mobilized version of sites working using 6.1 PE.  Our current thought is to create a new portal for the mobile site and link the two sites together with a Site Group.  That would seem to work well for users, but what happens with security roles?  Users get certain rights on the regular site -- and we would want them to get similar rights on the mobile site.  Any thoughts?

AFAIK portal groups do not sync role membership, i.e. you will need to implement a sync yourself or use a different technique (e.g. use a hidden menu for the mobile menu in your original site).
