We have multiple portals inside 1 DNN site.  We have 1 SSL Cert, and we need to serve up 1 page securely in each site, how would i accomplish this?

Thanks,

matt

SSL Certificates work for one domain by default, though it is possible to purchase a "wildcard" SSL certificate which supports multiple sites on the same domain e.g. site1.mysite.com and site2.mysite.com -this would allow parent portals to work (child portals are just a part of the site and will work automatically) as long as you do not have different domains as portal aliases. If this is the case the only option is to run against a server that supports Server Name Indication (SNI) -which in Microsofts case is IIS 8 (which isnt even released yet)

If you only need the certificate for only 1 portal this would be worked on adding the certificate to your IIS for the DNN instance, and map only this one domaine to use https://domain.com on port 443.

If you need to use the certificate for more then one portal you need a SAN (Multidomain) certificate, where all other domains have to add as alternate domain names.

This would only work for Portals, and not for alternate domainnames for one portal on on of the domain of the alternate domainnames.  If you have alternate domain names all alternate domainnames have to be added to a SAN Certificate.

Also don't vorget to enable SSL support on the Portal settings!
