In the File Manager module we are no longer able to access the Portal Root drop down menu in IE or Firefox. This was as recently as week ago, and both at the exact same time. Opera and Safari do allow us to access the Portal Root drop down folders in the File Manager module.

I suspect it is because our version of Dot Net Nuke is old but wondered if there could possibly be another reason and a resolution. We have not changed our Firewall on our server.

Our host service provider is Nexicom and they have reported that they have not changed permissions or their server and everything on their end seems to be fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem recently?

I would expect a security fix applied to the server or your local windows/browser update might be the cause. Which DNN version are you running (see Host Settings)?

Thank you for your quick response Sebastian. It is old. Version is 4.09.00

We haven't performed any updates in house and it seemed odd that both browsers updated at the same time. Not impossible but odd.

The site was created and installed by another company in 2009 which my organization then had a falling out with and broke communications with. I think it could have been resolved but it wasn't my call. I don't have the technical confidence to update our site as I am afraid that something could go wrong. If something went wrong I don't want to be responsible for my organization losing its site and fell my very limited experience would not be able to fix it.

It appears that Dot Net Nuke was not fully operational from its launch with us. I think it was tweaked to comply with Nexicom hosting the site because there are a few functions that are not operational. ie. our hosting provider disabled the Site Log History feature for our portal.

Sooner or later I believe that security features will no longer be valid on our site and without updates will perhaps no longer be compatible with other browsers. Firefox and IE could be a tip of an iceberg for us. This is my gut feeling - I just don't know if my gut feeling on this could be correct and would like to try to find a solution if there is one.
