I've figured out how the "friend" system works in 6.2, but the "follow" function doesn't seem to have any use at all.  I thought that perhaps the status updates for the people you "follow" would show up in your feed, but this doesn't appear to be the case.  Can anyone enlighten me on what "follow" does?  Thanks!

Spence

at this point it simply adds a relationship status of "friend" - however AFAIR no code currently checks that (custom code could check that to make decisions) - in future releases we will utilise this status to determine behaviours e.g. we expect to extend messaging and allow options to only send messages to friends/followers etc.

Gotcha...that is what I expected. Do you guys think it might be a good idea to hide this "follow" functionality until it has some interaction that is useful to the user? We're evaluating DNN for use in a fairly large network and our very minimal tests seemed to indicate that this confused the user a bit.

Spence - did you work out if it does anything or how to remove it?
