All,
I have a network related issue that may not be specific to DNN but I'm out of my element on this one and taking a shot that someone can help.
My new intranet is almost ready to go live. It's on a Windows Server 2008 server and has a new site created in IIS called "Dotnetnuke". Accessing the site was possible using the following URL:
http://<server name>:86/
86 is the port assigned to the website.
In order to test the site prior to going live, I asked our network group to add a temporary DNS entry/hostname to the network called "Intranettest" that should point to or resolve the the new DNN site. They assigned it a static IP and I can see it in IIS (10.200.100.191:86) when I look at the website on the web server. However, when I type "Intranettest" in my browser I get the following error:
Not Found
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.
I tried all variation of that hostname including child portals and even page names that I know exist. No luck.
Since I'm a developer and not a network engineer, I'm limited in network knowledge and have no clue what's causing the issue but figured I make a post in case anyone here would be able to assist.
TIA,
Mark
