I would like to know if it is possible to create a custom field in the registration form and, when the user registers in the site, a role is automatically assigned based on that field content.

This is what I would like to do: My customers will be given a secret word during an event. Let's say "NuclearMedicine" After the event I will share with them some cumplimentary information in my website.

If they register and write that secret word "NuclearMedicine" I'll redirect them and allow them to view the contents of that particular event just by assigning them the role "NuclearMedicine". But if they write "UROLOGY" they'll have access to different contents.

If I could manage to do this I will save a lot of time pre-registering the users and assigning the roles manually.

Do you know how to do this? Is it possible? Is there any workarround I don't know?
