Hi,

DNN Community: 06.02.04 (63)

I can only find one kind of profile provider in DNN, but there seems to be two different profiles? When I add a new profile field, it shows up as an editable field at /Admin/UserAccounts.aspx but when I go to /UserProfile/tabid/57/userId/3/Default.aspx the new field isn't available. Am I missing something? I need for people to be able to edit their profile and require certain fields which are visible to all members. This is for a company intranet, so I need everyone's phone, location, position, department, &c to be visible and searchable.

You will need to make sure on the custom added property that you set the visibility for it correctly to be visible for all, and that the user in question has filled out the value.

I've done that, and set it to required, but it seems as though the profile data on those two pages is different.

We are having the same issue with DNN social,  all profile fields are visible for all users and the visible checkbox is checked. 

The following seems to be the case,

  • All custom profile fields are visible for each member
  • All default profile are not visible for each member

The profile view displays a string of "*" chareacters, for the default profile fields, I also checked the JSON output and the default field have an empty string, custom fields which are left empty are returned by a NULL value.

I hope someone has a solution for this issue
