I am using IE10 with DNN 7.05 and Windows Server 2012.

When trying to upload a photo or attachment it says the DNNAPI requires a username and password.

I have the IIS App pool identity with modify rights, and I even added Network Service with modify rights however I don't think that was necessary as it did not help and all works the same without giving Network Service modify rights.

I seen a 6 page thread with similar issue but no one had an answer.  I had this problem once before if I remember correctly and an updated version fixed it, but it is back again...

Anyone come up with the solution yet?

Thank you.

I took a look at your solution however I have no issues with the control bar other than I don't get to see all the container sections like in layout mode when dropping/draggin. I would think with that feature it should go to a layout mode, it almost does but I can only drag to panes that already have a module loaded in them, the others are invisible.

Back to my problem, I can upload pictures using HTML editors however if I try to upload one using the Journal I get this DNNAPI permissions.

I believe it is something with the "Form" or "FormPost" method being used as I have been trying to figure out what would cause this from all angles. I have permissions set ok. Everything else works great and its happening on more than one install and some of them are fresh.

In fact I just put this server in service a month ago and its a Windows 2012 Standard with SQL Server 2012 Standard.

I just got a windows 8 machine going along with a windows 8 phone... So I am all caught up to date as of now... I was running 2003 server so 10 years I think I am ready to make the switch now rather than later.

So if anyone else can post with the journal an image or attachment using Windows 2012 server please let me know so I can rule that out. I have write permissions added to the AppPool ID on the folder permissions, which again uploading from the rad editor is not a problem. I can add pages, move modules, upload images in those modules... all except the Journal that I know of work fine but the Journal has this DNNAPI permission popup with login problem when trying to post attachements/photos.

I bet maybe I need to set the folders permissions

Seems to work ok with Safari, its funny how I find most bugs related to IE like you all don't use it when you program.

Sure seems like maybe FireFox is preferred to developers possibly, but IE is used by millions so I am thinking it has something with the FormPost method being used to post the file to the server. It is funny to see it work with 2 browsers but not with IE.

And I am sure most want to reply "Well then don't use it" but common... I love IE 10, however they all work. I just think IE made some changes that have not caught up with DNN yet... I was trying to find a link to the article I read that describes what I have just talked about. I will post it when I find it.

Thank you.

Again I only have problems with uploading to the "Journal" Module using IE 9 or 10, "DNNAPI requires a username and password."

I have no problems uploading from any other part of my website or using another browser on the journal.
