DNN version 5.6.8

I've implemented ISearchable on a module that just gets files and directories for a file path, and displays them in a TreeView control. When implementing the ISearchable interface, I built up my SearchItemInfoCollection object by getting those same files and directories for the path (which is stored in Settings[]).

Apparently this doesn't work. After updating my module (Host - Extensions), it shows that it is searchable but searching still only returns .aspx pages on my site - no documents. I was thinking that implementing this interface would somehow add a bunch of searchable items to the database, but maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Any info on this? Should it work? I know there are third party modules I can buy, but I already have this custom module built so if I can make the files searchable that would be best.

Thanks
