DNN 7.1.2.

One of the selling points of DNN is that it is extensible, that folks can build custom solutions inside a DNN installation. I am taking advantage of that ability. I have some custom forms built with Dynamic Forms.  I am the host user and I have a number of sites who use my custom forms on their sites. I really need to keep the site administrators out of the design view of the custom forms (modules) to keep them from altering the functionality and from stealing my considerable design work on the forms.

Through experimentation I have learned that in the if I open page settings and set permissions to explicitly deny all users edit permissions on the page, then users with the administrator security role cannot edit the page and / or the modules on the page. That's what I need. Perfect.

However the user that is designated to be the site administrator in the site settings / security setting can still edit the protected page and modules. That's a problem.

So finally, the question is, is there a technique or a trick that can be used to deny all users except the host user from editing a particular page or module?

Thanks for your help in advance!

In its current form - the DNN Administator has full access to everything.   There have been discussions on the past about extending the permission tree - but that has not happened to date.

Why not add a new suggestion to http://www.dnnsoftware.com/voice/  regarding having HOST level permissions on each page and module. As opposed to just Admin level permissions.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just did.

I would also be pleased to learn there was a tweak I could perform now on my existing sites.??

site admins always have full access to all content of their website.
Evoq content does include a "module lock" feature, but AFAIK this can be overridden by admins as well.
you might create a security role "limited admins" and grant full edit permissions on your content pages - but some admin modules might refuse access to non-admins.
