 Dear all member!

I feel like the answer is yes, thanks to permissions/role settings, etc, but I need to be certain that there is a way to prevent the site from being indexed, and prevent files from being accessible without login with approved user role.
Can DNN be used to create a secure, password-protected portal? I want only the login screen and it's assets/images, etc, to be accessible/viewable by all, nothing else.
Lets say someone types in Mysite.com/thisisa.pdf
Is there a way to force either A) redirect to login page or B) 404 or some not found, or not accessible page?
I have googled extensively and have not found precisely the answers I'm looking for.  If someone can point me in the direction to creating a secure portal, that would be awesome.

Thank's a lot!

Any DNN website page and its content will only be visible to unauthenticated users (including search engine crawlers), if you grant view permissions to "all users" or "unauthenticated users" role (please do NOT use "deny permission").
Files will not be downloadable, if stored in a secure folder (database or - in most cases definitely recommended - file system). In this cases the DNN download handler LinkClick.aspx will check DNN folder permission and deliver files only to users with read permission. For specifying folder permission, right click folder node in Admin > File Management and select properties. Permissions may be specified on 2nd tab.

here's some more information on secure folders (http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/folde...) - also you may want to have a robots.txt disallow all indexing (http://tools.seobook.com/robots-txt/)

So you really copied the entirety of my post from two months ago?

The answer is a golden yes, but you need to be sure you use either Secure Folders or Database Folders to store sensitive files so it goes through the file handler and checks for permissions to access.

I didn't copy any of my posts. sorry.
Using Database Folders usually has significant performance implications - though it might not be noticed in DNN overall.
