Hey

Question or issue with self registration of a new user. I am trying to figure out why on a self registration of a new user the system is not selecting the state/region selection after the drop down selection is picked. I am making this a required filed. I have pre-set the filed for the country for US so the region is pre-populated with US states. The user can open the drop down menu and pick a state but after hitting update the system is not taking the selection and keeps going back to not specified even though it was specified.

Error of not specified:

Setting making region a required field:

If I do not make this a required field, the user can setup their profile and then once logged in can browse to their profile and edit the region field. The system then does save the region without issue.

I do not understand why in the initial login of a new user self registration a required region field is not working properly?

Is country suppose to be pre populated by any data by default?

If I choose to have a valid profile for user registration the country filed comes with United States even though I do not have any pre populated data. I even tried to enter in other countries or even words, but it keep coming up as United States. If that field is pre populated a user is not going to know to delete and then re-type in united states again, which they have to do to get the region select box to appear instead of a text field.

For country, DNN uses an IP lookup mechanism based on a file which ships with DNN.

It pre populates with United States, but the region does not change to a drop down list where they can pick a state. They would have to know to delete the country and then start to type it again to get the drop down list to appear.

Do you know why the region/states list does not convert to a dropdown list?
