I have a fresh install of DNN 8.00.03 and I find that there are errors with the file manager and html editor when logged in as a site admin rather than a super user.  As a super user I'm able to use the html editor and upload files like documents and images without any trouble, also the file manager works just fine.  When however i create a administrator account for the portal and try to add an image through the html editor there is no option to upload, the button is there but greyed out.  Also there is no option to navigate through the folder structure on the left to my own user folder.

Also logged in as a admin account when i click admin->file manager i get the error "An error occured while loading the folder content" "The user doesn't have the correct permissions to browse this folder."

To create the user I logged in as the host went to admin -> user accounts, new user, created and then added the "administrator" role to the user.  This is a very straight forward step i would think so wondering if anyone else had this issue and what the fix was. obviously giving everyone that needs to edit superuser is not a good idea.

Go to module settings of the file manager module as re-save it.
Open file manager and sync root folder and all subfolders.
Check properties of root folder and make sue, permissions are specified correctly.

Thanks for the answer, wasn't sure what the permissions should have been so ended up having the children inherit from the root after the steps you said and that ended up fixing the problem so far.

Hi Sebastian!

Thanks, I just had the same problem with a DNN 8.0.4 installation. It worked - but only after doing this for every single folder on the site (incl. User folders). This can be quite a lot (which was not in this case, thankfully), so my question is: Is there another way to solve this (e.g. SQL statement...)?

Happy DNNing!
Michael
