I have posted this question in a few of the other forums, but I have not yet gotten an answer.  I work for a United States Federal Agency and we are required that all of our Web sites comply with Section 508 guidelines.

Can anyone from the core team answer this question?

If it does not comply and/or can not be made to comply then we can't use it and we REALLY like it and want to implement it.

If anyone has an answer, please let me know.

Thanks much!

Nadine

I believe Cathal is working toward this.  Here is a blog post from June...

Hello Nadine

I am no expert, so I am just guessing here. I highly doubt the current version of DNN would meet all the accessibility guidelines (I assume 508 is related to this?)

I found this VERY old post here:

Have you tried a Google search with DotnetNuke and 508?

I think it would be up to the skin to conform tho, and hence it is doable if you really want it...

Version 2.1.2 was 508 compliant, but we are no longer strictly 508 compliant since version 3.0

It probably wouldn't take too long to get it back to a compliant state if someone were to dedicate some time to it.

The University of El Paso Texas did most of the work before:

Thanks for reminding me Rodney.  Unfortunately the skin can't do it alone.

All the modules have to render compliant code also, and if you start including third party modules then you will be hard-pressed to find them maintaining this standard.
