Hi, this is a weird one. We have several portals setup on a dedicated box. Everything is running fine until you type one of the pages in uppercase i.e. www.domain.com/DEFAULT.ASPX. Each portal is setup as a parent portal, but when you type in uppercase like this you always get redirected to the first portal that was setup.

We are running Search Engine Friendly URLs if that helps.

Not sure what we could do to prevent this. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually this is an issue that resurfaced in ASP.NET 2.0. It has to do with the http handler case sensitivity but is only affected by the extension.

 

URL                   with DotNetNuke

deFault.aspx      works

DEFAULT.aspx    works

default.aspX      does not work (redirects to host portal default.aspx)

Default.ASPX     does not work (redirects to host portal default.aspx)

 

I read that there is a hotfix available from Microsoft but only by calling tech support.

 

If you add this to SiteUrls.config it should fix your problem (not thoroughly tested)…

 

<RewriterRule>

<LookFor>(?i).*/default.ASPX</LookFor>

            <SendTo>~/Default.aspx</SendTo>

</RewriterRule>

 

…it simply ignores the case.

Might be worth the hotfix as well, who knows ...
