Is there anyway to limit results to the output of a specific module?

Hi Brian
Just had a look and there is a way to include and exclude by module ID.
These are seperate settings.

Hi

So it's possible to set within this module what pages to include (so I don't have to go making changes to loads of pages one by one) and it's possible to specify what page the results are shown on?

Hi
You put the module on a hidden or protected page and you can then set what elements the DNN search returns.
Ecktwo has fully explained all this and more on his site.

The following is a text dump of the settings page checkboxs and text entry windows.

Enable DNN Search:

When checked, the non-admin modules on this portal will be made searchable within DNN search.
Enable Tab Name Search:

When checked, the tab names in this portal will be included within DNN search.
Enable Tab Title Search:

When checked, the tab titles in this portal will be included within DNN search.
Enable Tab Description Search:

When checked, the tab descriptions in this portal will be included within DNN search.
Enable Tab Key Words Search:

When checked, the tab key words in this portal will be included within DNN search.
Exclude Invisible Tabs:

When checked, exclude tabs marked as hidden.
Exclude Disabled Tabs:

When checked, exclude tabs marked as disabled
Enable Module Title Search:

When checked, the module titles in this portal will be included within DNN search
Enable Module Header Search:

When checked, the module headers in this portal will be included within DNN search.Enable Module Footer Search:

When checked, the module footers in this portal will be included within DNN search.
Enable Text/HTML Module Search Summary Search:

When checked, the Text/HTML Modules' Search Summary field in this portal will be included within DNN search.
Exclude Module Types:

To exclude specific module types trom search, enter module Friendly names delimited by ";".
Exclude Module IDs:

To exclude specific module IDs trom search, enter module numbers delimited by ";".
Exclude Tab IDs:

Hope this helps but it really is a good idea to check out Ecktwos site as he has some really useful pages and information to offer.

Hi, Does anyone use this module that could answer these questions? I've looked on the modules site and I can't find anything that answers these questions.
  • Can the core DNN search be used on a portal to search the whole site and then this module be used along side so that it only searches pages within a specific section? e.g if I had a 'Manual' section, it would only search it's sub-pages.
  • Does it work with DNN 3.2.2?
