I exported a portal template and imported it into a new template. So far so good. But apparently this process assigns new tabids to all of your pages -- fair enough. My menus were smart enough to know how to change their links automatically to match the news tabs. Unfortunately all the links that I added into my text/HTML modules are not similarly crafty. Is there some way I could fix/avoid this issue short of editing all of my links after the import?

And is there a preferred way to add links that makes them more portable? thanks.

export and import has limits, as the module does not know, if it gets imported for use in the current portal or in another one. How shall the module decide, whether to use page ID's, relative or absolute paths?

makes sense. I just didn't know if there were some best practices to minimize these problems. I'm pretty new to DNN and am just making this up as I go along. thanks!
